Caleform

About

An operations firm, started by someone who ran operations.

Caleform exists because the operational layer of an ecommerce brand is usually the last thing to get professional attention and the first thing to break under growth.

Supply chain by training, Big 4 operations by practice, retail fulfilment by repetition. The through-line is the same in every one of those settings: the numbers on the report only mean something if you know what is physically happening to the goods.

Caleform is the version of that work sized for ecommerce brands — the ones large enough that operations has become a real job, and small enough that hiring a supply chain team for it does not make sense yet.

  • MBA, Supply Chain Management — Michigan State UniversityGraduate specialisation in the discipline the firm is built on.
  • Operations consulting at PwCBig 4 operations engagements including work with Coca-Cola, Unilever and Procter & Gamble.
  • Retail compliance and fulfilment, hands-onDay-to-day fulfilment and compliance execution for accounts including Ulta Beauty, Sephora, Mecca and Space NK.

Caleform is a new firm and has no client roster to publish. Everything above is Awais Akbar Babri’s professional experience prior to founding it — not Caleform client work. There are no case studies here yet, and inventing them would be a poor start.

03 Scope

What Caleform is not.

Not a 3PL.

Caleform does not own warehouses. It manages the ones you use, and holds them to a standard.

Not a software product.

No dashboard to log into and forget. The work is done by a person who reads the exception report.

Not a large agency.

One operator, a deliberate client count, and no account manager between you and the work.
